A Delicate Domain

The porcelain sculpture displays a relationship between the worlds and roles of the upper and lower classes in a miniature scene, with an underlying hint of sensual tension. A Delicate Domain is created in collaboration between Chris Antemann and the Meissen manufactory.

Chris Antemann was invited by Meissen to collaborate with the historic porcelain manufacturer and its master artisans on a series of limited-edition pieces, inspired by Meissen’s iconic tradition of intricately painted porcelain miniatures. A Delicate Domain pays homage to Johann Joachim Kaendler and his many brilliant figure groups, which have become icons of Meissen porcelain.
