In this series of photographs, Susanna Pozzoli captures master papermaker Gangolf Ulbricht in his creation process. The key moments are characterized by textures and tactile elements: the pulp in a Hollander beater, the water on the just made sheet before hand-pressing, the lightness of the paper once it’s dry. Ulbricht’s hands at work, guided by his outstanding savoir-faire, experience and instinct, are the main subject of this series.
