How to get to the event

From Marco Polo Airport: Alilaguna Blue Line to San Marco. From San Marco-San Zaccaria Pier B: Vaporetto n°2 to San Giorgio. From Santa Lucia train station: Vaporetto n°2 to San Giorgio.

Free shuttle Free shuttle

A free Alilaguna shuttle will take you from San Marco-San Zaccaria to San Giorgio Island every 30 minutes. First departure from San Zaccaria Pier B1 at 10 AM. Last departure from San Giorgio at 7:15 PM. The shuttle is only available to visitors that have bought tickets online and on the day of their booked visit.

Trenitalia

Make an eco-friendly choice to travel to Venice by train with Trenitalia. Energy-saving and almost completely recyclable, Trenitalia’s Frecciarossa 1000 train is the first in the world to have obtained an Environmental Impact Certification due to its eco-credentials: reduced aerodynamic resistance, 30 percent less energy consumption, energy-saving LED lighting and a hybrid system which uses braking to recover energy. Is there a minimum age to attend?

There is no minimum age to attend, children under 12 need to be accompanied by an adult.

Where is Homo Faber?

Homo Faber will take place on the Island of San Giorgio Maggiore, in the heart of the Venice lagoon, a five minute boat ride from San Marco square.

Can I access the island with my own boat?

You can access the island under certain conditions and authorizations.

Can I access the Stanze del Vetro?

Le Stanze del Vetro is an exhibition in parallel, it can be accessed independently.

Can I access the Vatican Pavilion?

Yes, access is free. This event is not part of Homo Faber.

How can I get to the San Giorgio Maggiore Island?

Our free Homo Faber shuttle will take you from San Marco-San Zaccaria (Pier B1) to San Giorgio every 30 minutes. Also Vaporetto n°2 stops at San Giorgio. From Marco Polo Airport: Alilaguna Blue Line or Red Line to San Marco.

I'm a journalist, can I get accreditation?

We recommend to register on our ticketing platform to get your free ticket to access the free shuttle. You will be ask to show your press card at the entrance of the exhibition.

Is there access for disabled visitors?

You can access the exhibition with wheelchairs and walking frames. The visit to the libraries on the first floor is possible by requesting access to an elevator (width: 74 cm - depth: 118 cm - maximum weight: 350Kg). Please enquire at info@michelangelofoundation.org.

Can I bring a stroller?

Yes. However, parents should be careful manouvering the stroller in the exhibits.

Can I bring my pet?

Pets, even small ones, are not permitted. Exceptions are made for guide dogs for the blind, provided they have a leash and a muzzle, and pets certified as support for therapeutic treatments (pet therapy). To facilitate access, please communicate your arrival at least one day in advance to the email address visit.cini@duva.eu

Can I sketch in the exhibits?

Sketching is welcomed throughout most of the exhibition except in some spaces where a sign indicates the specific rules.

Can I smoke?

It is strictly forbidden to smoke in the external and internal areas of the Giorgio Cini Foundation.

Can I take pictures?

Taking photos of artworks and spaces is permitted, but ONLY for personal purposes. The use of flash is always prohibited. The use of photographic tripod and/or professional equipment is forbidden. Any use of professional equipment must be authorised by the management. Use of extendable selfie sticks is prohibited.

What are the baggage rules?

Please do not bring any large or bulky items such as suitcases, backpacks, packages or containers, to the exhibition as there no cloakrooms.

What are the security rules?

In order to ensure visitors' safety and protect the artworks, it is necessary to hand over knives, scissors and any type of metal tools to the ticket office.

Where do I leave waste?

No waste of any kind can be abandoned in the exhibtion. Rubbish bins are placed at the ticket office and the toilets.

Will there be precautionary measures on site?

The organising committee’s priority remains the wellbeing of the event’s cherished international visitors and stakeholders. As such, the utmost care will be taken to create an event which permits social distancing and both a welcoming and safe environment for everyone.
