A Strong Passion

The porcelain sculpture depicts a couple sitting among their collection of Blue and White porcelain. Her gaze is left unnoticed as he lovingly admires his newest piece in the collection, a little vase with delicate multicoloured painting. A Strong Passion, created in collaboration between Chris Antemann and the Meissen manufactory, celebrates Meissen’s early days of Blue and White wares.

Chris Antemann was invited by Meissen to collaborate with the historic porcelain manufacturer and its master artisans on a series of limited-edition pieces, inspired by Meissen’s iconic tradition of intricately painted porcelain miniatures. A Strong Passion is inspired by Meissen’s early days of Blue and White wares, painted in Asian styles as well as the company’s invention of coloured overglazes, which changed the world of painted porcelain.
