Modelling ceramic monsters inspired by Japanese toys

Join ceramicist Kartini Thomas for a playful yet complete discovery of the techniques of ceramics by making Kaiju and Yokaï figures. A little scary, sometimes funny and certainly very strange, these Japanese monsters and spirits will inspire you to create small ceramic art toys. Modelling techniques will be learned with Kartini while experimenting with texture, shape and colour. This class is open to anyone over the age of 10 curious to learn how to create ceramic pieces. All material and high temperature firing are included in this introductory class, and you will leave with your personally crafted monster.
