The Tsolias

The decorative stacking puzzle figure of the Tsolias is part of a series that combines historical information, folk elements and Greek tradition with interactivity and modern design. The different coloured pieces – red, white, brown and natural wood – highlight its archetypal characteristic. The Tsolias comprises eight different pieces, all handmade from beech wood and dyed with eco-friendly water-based paints.

Tsolias is a soldier who belonged to a special unit of the Greek army. His uniform, a symbol of bravery for the Greek people, was officially established by King Otto of Greece. Nowadays, the Tsolias is called the Presidential Guard soldier.
