The design of this kimono features a large noshi, the Japanese decorative element of celebration, covering the back and the shoulders of the piece. The detailed noshi patterns are created using Yūzen, embroidery, gold leaf and a variety of other techniques. This kimono is a replica of the furisode kimono from the Edo era. The original furisode has been designated an important cultural property for its excellent design and advanced techniques.
