The photograph is taken in the atelier of the Japanese National Living Treasure Jun Isezaki. He is a master of Bizen ware that originated almost a thousand years ago in today's Bizen city. The pottery of Bizen ware is characterised by the firing technique, without any pre-applied glaze and highly iron-rich clay.
