Lidded box with gingko design in maki-e
The box decorated using the maki-e lacquer technique is embellished with stylised leaves of ginkgo biloba, a tree native to China. Kazumi Murose here combines the maki-e technique with mother-of-pearl inlay to create a colourful and refined design with a modern touch.
