A fascination with fabric flowers

  • • Séverina transforms white silk into flowers
  • • She is the last independent luxury flower-maker in France
  • • She has worked with shops including Galerie Lafayette

As a young girl, Séverina Lartigue visited a shop looking for fabric flowers to put on a dress and was instantly mesmerised by the world she had stepped into. She bought three violets that she still has to this day. She later started to create her own fabric flowers, combining her affinity for textiles with a long-held fascination with nature and botany. Over the years she been lucky enough to work with several masters of the craft, who taught her techniques and knowledge that would help her become a master herself.

Long live the bride!

Wax buds and small silk roses attached to a delicate brass wire compose this elegant bridal crown. The wire can be adjusted to fit the bride’s hair or surround a chignon. The circlet can be custom-made to suit different wedding themes and colours.

Albertine

By placing open silk roses in a circle, Séverina suggests a flowing movement. The pale pink flowers nestle on a bed of leaves with small rosebuds in between.

My little jewel

These silk flowers composed of delicate velvet petals look almost like porcelain. In the centre of each flower is a pink pearl, while finely detailed white stamens and gold leather leaves transform the blossom into a veritable jewel.

Sweetheart

These silk roses were inspired by Pierre de Ronsard’s famous poem, Mignonne, allons voir si la rose... Crafted from white silk for the outside petals, intensifying in pink shades towards the centre, the flowers evoke a breath of fresh spring air.
