Dipping your oars in the water: Venetian rowing

Venice is built on the water and so is the life of the city itself. Each palace, no matter whether it is on the Grand Canal or in another area of Venice, has its main façade on a canal and not on the labyrinth of narrow streets. Meet one of the last remèri in the World in his workshop, and learn all the secrets behind one of the oldest crafts in Venice: forcole (oarlocks) and oars allowed people and goods transportation for centuries, and are still fundamental for gondolas and other traditional boats. After seeing the demonstration, you can put your knowledge into practice and discover the real face of Venice by floating on its canals, learning to row on a traditional historical Venetian boats in the very unique rowing style that characterise the lagoon. After your ride, enjoy a well deserved aperitif in a traditional bacaro: a glass of wine and a cicchetto (small bite) will be the perfect conclusion for this tour that will take you right to the heart of Venice.
