Mending with gold: explore the Kintsugi capsule collection

Pomellato has channelled the traditional Japanese artistry to create the most poetic way of upcycling broken gemstones, in the Kintsugi capsule collection. Revealing the beauty of the perfectly imperfect: this is the philosophy behind the Japanese art of mending with gold. Damaged gems such as jet and kogolong, which would normally be discarded, are repurposed to create jewels thanks to an innovative approach, that led to this sophisticated re-interpretation of the ancient kintsugi technique. Available only in selected Pomellato boutiques, the exclusive collection can be explored in the Venice shop.

Pomellato

Jewellery making

Pomellato: the unmistakable colours of an unconventional stylePomellato was founded in Milan in 1967 by Pino Rabolini – the heir to his family’s goldsmith legacy - as the jewelry brand for the independent woman, introducing the prêt-à-porter philosophy into a traditionally conservative world. Renowned for a sparkling creativity, a bold use of coloured gems and the Italian craftsmanship, each Pomellato jewel is handcrafted by expert goldsmiths in Milan. Pomellato’s immediately recognizable collections range from the House signature Nudo, with its “naked” coloured stones, to the goldsmithing creations of Iconica and Catene. The brand has successfully evolved into High Jewelry, creating one-of-a-kind masterpieces for La Gioia. A social and environmental frontrunner, Pomellato has championed countless initiatives to combat violence against women and support their empowerment. Pomellato uses only ethically-mined gold in a costant commitment to the theme of eco-sustainability and investment in the traceability of the stones and diamonds.
