The age-old craft of gilding

A journey back into history and ancient techniques, the guided tour of À l'Or et du Bois workshop is intended for all visitors wishing to discover the craft of heritage restorer and gilder. The two-hour visit covers all facets of furniture restoration, the many stages of the working process, as well as the technical aspects of gilding. Sophie Blanc, master gilder, will share with you her knowledge and the secrets of her meticulous gestures. In the final part of the course, participants will be able to experiment with the application of gold leaf and try their hand at gilding.
