A weekend of delicate gilding

Hosted by Sophie Blanc, this course is designed for participants to experience the age-old craft of gilding and its magical gestures. Over two days, participants will be able to gild their own wooden photo frame and try to master each stage of the making process, from mounting the white coatings to smoothing the surface and laying the red plate, before finally applying the gold leaf. The last step consists of passing an agate stone to obtain a clean, polished finish. At the end of the class, participants will leave with their own handmade gilded frame, an authentic souvenir. The course hours are 9:30 to 12:30 and 14:00 to 17:00 both days.
