Immerse yourself in the history of blacksmiths

Follow Dionyzas Varkalis, museum founder, resident Klaipėda blacksmith and metal restorer, to learn about the museum’s history and the forge of the famous Klaipėda blacksmith master Katzke. On display at the museum is the original sign of the forge, a showcase of wooden castings for letters and numbers handmade by Katzke, as well as his trademark stamp. The original interior of Katzke’s forge has also been recreated. Visitors can see gas streetlamps, agricultural implements, work tools and door hinges made in the forge of Katzke and other Klaipėda forges. The tour costs 10 euros per group, on top of the entry ticket for the museum.
