Woodworking beginner course

The founder of Atelier Espenaer, Umut Lucas Espenaer, will personally introduce you to the basics in this entry-level course. You will develop proficiency with the common artisanal hand tools to create a simple wooden object of your choice out of rough lumber, such as a spice rack, or a serving board. Aside from sharing essential skills, such as measuring, marking, gluing, and applying various finishes, he will also introduce fundamental knowledge about the materiality of wood and different types of wood along the way. Materials and tools are provided. Participants are granted two hours of free use of a workspace for an unaided solo session. The course consists of four lessons of 2.5 hours and one solo session.
