Create your own stained glass

Atelier Mestdagh welcomes stained glass enthusiasts to the workshop for this beginners' session in which participants will explore the basic techniques of stained glass making and the characteristics of the materials. First, you'll design your own stained glass panel under the guidance of glass artist Ingrid Meyvaert, while Katrien Mestdagh makes sure that it is technically easy to make. Afterwards, you'll select the glass for your panel from the workshop's stock of over 450 different colours and types of glass. After the glass is cut, you'll discover how glass and lead can work together to form a stained glass panel. The finishing touches, puttying and cleaning, challenge participants to continue working until the last moment. Everyone will finish the workshop with a feeling of fulfilment and an awareness of how hard it is be to be a professional craftsman. The 24-hour course is spread over six sessions of four hours. The dates are fixed at least two months before start of the course.
