Zenzo Fukushima, from The Ateliers of Wonders series
The photograph depicts a fragment of Koishiwara ware pottery from the atelier of the Japanese National Living Treasure Zenzo Fukushima. Master of Koishiwara pottery, Fukushima has achieved this deep celadon blue glaze through reduction firing: a colour he calls "Nakano Geppaku".
