Vacheron Constantin in partnership with the Musée du Louvre

WatchmakingWatchmaking and Métiers d'Art

Founded in 1755 in Geneva, Vacheron Constantin is the oldest watchmaking manufacture in the world, with an uninterrupted activity over the past 265 years. With the expertise of precious and technical fine watchmaking and craftsmanship inherited from centuries, Vacheron Constantin continues to create exceptional timekeepers.

A former royal palace, of which the first stone was laid more than eight centuries ago, opened to the public in 1793, the Musée du Louvre is a universal museum whose collections span nine millennia and five continents. Partners since 2019, Vacheron Constantin and the Louvre are home to a multitude of artistic crafts, sharing the same passion for the conservation, preservation and transmission of heritage.

TechniqueStory

Craftsmen from both institutions have met and joined their savoir-faire to create a dialogue between their pieces of art, each of them embodying their exceptional talent and passion passed on from generation to generation, from master to apprentice. Watchmakers, Gem setters, Enamellers, Engravers, Gilders and Ornamentists have a talent that no machine could ever replace. These métiers d’art tell extraordinary stories from the movement to the dial of the watches, from the light of the gold leaves to the painting of the quadriptych.
