Phantom Hands is a furniture workshop and brand based in Bengaluru, India. Started in 2013 as a monthly catalogue of curated vintage objects, it now makes handcrafted, design-driven furniture focused on Indian modernism. Phantom Hands' collections include re-editions of mid-century classics, as well as original contemporary collections and objects created in collaboration with acclaimed furniture and textile designers. The furniture is a culmination of centuries of traditional Indian craft knowledge and skills, passed on from generation to generation, and the name "Phantom Hands" is a metaphor honouring the generations of artisans whose contributions manifest in each piece of furniture the workshop produces. The first collection of furniture, Project Chandigarh, was launched in May 2015.
