The sculpture is handcrafted from blue alabaster using a direct cutting technique. Like an archaeologist, the sculptor has to find form and content in the raw material. By using pneumatic chisels, rasps and sandpaper, Tom Flick is able to create a three-dimensional equilibrium of the curves, angles and geometry.
