Aichi Bowl

This unique bowl is composed of three different noble metals: brass, white bronze and copper. The body is handmade from brass, while the patch is made of white bronze. The patch is "sewn" onto the body using copper wire.

With today’s technology, the idea of repairing has become anomalous, extraordinary and, as such, transgressive. Zanetto believes that a repaired object contains many past experiences, making it utterly unique. Following the philosophy of the ancient Japanese art of kintsugi, artisans at Zanetto believe that the signs of the object’s experience, its "trauma", should not be hidden. The patch on the Aichi bowl becomes its integral part, evidence of its story.
