I mostly make sculptures of birds and cats. My birds carry a spiritual message, whilst my owls and cats reflect my sense of humour and my ability to turn serious things into a joke.

Birds are a symbol of peace and freedom. They are a reflection of my spiritual state because absolute freedom is impossible to achieve. It is only possible to be free through an inner sense of peace, and that does not depend on external circumstances.

Tradition is my great inspiration. It reminds me of the warmth of home and childhood. My mother was very skilled in handicrafts, she was always creating something with her own hands. At my grandmother's, I used to admire her collection of hand woven rugs.

I turned all those motifs from the woven rugs into ceramic ornaments. One series of my work decorated with these ornaments was included in the UNESCO book, Traditional Arts and Crafts in Bosnia and Herzegovina, published in Venice in 2005.
