Making tears of joy

  • • Mantas is master of romantic arrangements
  • • His style is maximumist, almost baroque
  • • In his opinion, floristry is very similar to haute couture

"Enough with minimalism" says Mantas Petruškevičius. When the Lithuanian wedding and event floral artist – internationally known for his lavish arrangements – talks about his style, the word he uses is the opposite! "I would define it maximum-ist! The flowers should froth like a rivulet, or a waterfall. Only in this way you can create a vital atmosphere. If I lived in the Baroque era, I would definitely feel in my shoes." Not something you would expect from a guy who grew up in a cold, northern country, where nature is all but luxuriant. "Yet, I’ve always cherished those brief moments, in spring, when the snowdrops emerge from the snow, and then come tulips, daffodils, roses, lilacs and many others. It's usually short, but what an ineffable beauty!"

Red Gala Wedding

A lavish table setting for a red-themed gala dinner in the magnificent villa Aurelia, Rome. Red roses and carnations are the protagonists, arranged in thick bouquets and centrepieces. They are beautifully matched with a candid tablecloth, precious silverware and tall, scenographic candleholders with glass and crystal details. Ceramic fruit decorations, head-form vases, fruit sculptures and gold printed menus add magnificence to the scene. The atmosphere is absolutely luxuriant, the style dreamy, refined and baroque.

French Garden

A selection of colourful wild flowers are arranged in classical ceramic vases matching the classical columns. On the table, Petruškevičius used minimalistic vases and candleholders. The design is both fresh and wild, like the first breath of spring.

Romance

A romantic, modern and colourful wedding arrangement with purple, pink and peach-coloured flowers. Golden details, especially candleholders with leaves, make the table décor both unusual and romantic. The chandeliers hanging from the ceilings complete the scene with a touch of luxury.

Royal Wedding Ceremony

An all-white backdrop for a fairy-tale wedding at Villa Miani in Romę. Evoking Heaven and lightness, Mantas used a light and uplifting style, arranging a great abundance of white flowers in baroque-style white ceramic vases. He used thousands of white hydrangeas, white roses and magnolia leaves, a 40-metre-long carpet for the aisle, a 4-metre arch as well as French garden-style umbrellas.

Royal Wedding Dinner

This amazing flower arrangement of pink, purple and red hydrangeas was for a romantic wedding in Villa Miani, Rome. As well as on the tables, flowers were also shaped as clouds, suspended above tall vases. The crystal chandelier is hung from the ceiling, with gold and crystal details. The dark tablecloths made the tables feel even more sumptuous.
