By hand, for feet

  • • Making a pair of handmade shoes takes around 100 hours
  • • Korbinian's greatest inspiration is the customer
  • • One customer crossed the Sahara wearing his shoes

After meeting a theatrical shoemaker, opera student Korbinian Ludwig Heß fell in love with the craft, changing from singing to shoemaking. His two-year training started in 2009 in Vienna at the world renowned Rudolf Scheer & Sons, followed by stints in different countries across Europe. This shaped his vision for bespoke shoemaking and taught him how to incorporate new techniques and styles into his work. Korbinian is a stickler for detail and works entirely by hand; he doesn't even use electricity in his Berlin workshop, which opened in 2017. A meticulous process comprising at least three appointments with the customer and the production of two pairs of fitted shoes results in one-of-a-kind footwear, crafted according to the feet and personality of the wearer.

Balmoral wingtips

This pair of Balmoral wingtips was made from undyed French boxcalf. The leather was then coloured according to the wishes of the customer. A special patina lifts the bespoke experience to a higher level by making the shoe even more unique.

Max Maria boot

The Max Maria is a sporty or more urban version of the traditional jodhpur boot. The waxed leather develops a worn look quite quickly but it will last forever. Treated with the right care, this boot will look new again.

This pair of boots, fashioned from Horween Chromexcel leather, is perfect for autumn and spring, for working and walking. Robust but elegant, the boots age in a very particular way.

Wholecut

The wholecut form of shoes is one of the simplest but also most elegant shoe designs. Polishing an oiled nubuck at the toe and heel and leaving the middle part matt makes the wholecut elegant but also casual. The shoes can be worn with formal attire or combine perfectly with a pair of blue jeans.
