Flower power on wheels

Catharine O'Boyle had not planned to become an artist. Since the age of 17, she’s been travelling the world, looking for adventure. First as a surfer then as a surf instructor, chasing the perfect wave. But a couple of years ago, while she was home for Christmas, the pandemic hit and she was stuck in the United Kingdom. Luckily her father is a metal sculptor and has a workshop where young Catharine had already worked many times, learning about tools and techniques. It was there and then that she decided to experiment with her creativity. After a few attempts, her first handmade resin skate deck was born. "When I cannot surf, skating is a good alternative for being outdoors. But skating is such a male-dominated world, I really wanted to make a beautiful feminine board for myself. That’s why I put dried flowers inside it." Her intuition proved right. And her pastime turned into a job.

Forest walks
Inspired by long, sunny walks in the woods, this unique skate deck, handmade from epoxy resin and fiberglass, is filled with the forest natural beauty. The mushrooms, ferns and flora are all handpicked by the artist and dried in silicone sand. The deck is designed and reinforced to be ridden.

Cherry blossom deck
A delicate, super feminine board made from resin and fiberglass and filled with dried cherry blossoms. White wheels match the candid colors of the deck and its romantic, spring-like feeling. A unique work of art, yet strong enough to be ridden on the road.

Blue
Handmade resin and fiberglass deck in a cool-color palette of black, blue, grey and white. Inside the transparent resin, the decoration is made of charcoal and dried mushrooms, eucalyptus, ferns and many other foliage. The deck is designed and reinforced to be ridden.

Spring
Handmade skate deck made from transparent resin and fiberglass and filled with dried spring flowers and one single dragonfly. Sunflowers and other brightly colored flora are all hand-picked by the artist and dried out in silicone sand, then sprayed with lacca as a fixative. The board is designed and reinforced to be ridden.
