The Bloom! screen functions as a room divider, telling the story of an Irish border garden over the course of the year. Over 50 types of plants were collected over 18 months and here represented in all stages of their cycle from seeds, to flower and finally to decay.

This piece was created as a response to Shiro Kuramata's iconic 1980s chair, Miss Blanche. Inspired by the wild landscapes of Sasha’s native county, Carlow, the chair incorporates a wide range of local and unusual flora. Through a play of scales, Sasha wanted the experience to evoke the notion of sitting in a ditch.

The swirling vortex of the North Atlantic gyre is captured through the movement of carefully selected seaweeds. Each strand was collected on the west and south coasts of Ireland and incorporated into multiple resin cast panels. The floating organisms are inspired by Eileen Gray's famous screen in which individual “bricks” rotate along a horizontal axis.

This piece is made from wild gorse collected from hedges and ditches around Sasha’s home. Until recently, the local farmers would burn the gorse annually as it takes over the mountainsides and is prickly and unmanageable. The piece, made following a trip to Tokyo, is inspired by Japanese aesthetics.
