Timeless jewellery with a modern edge

  • • Janni was taught by master goldsmith Tage Steen Andersen
  • • She attended the Alchimia design school in Florence
  • • She received the Silver Medal of Her Majesty Queen Margrethe II

For Janni Krogh, working with precious metals is an interaction between metal and her soul, a powerful kind of meditation that makes her feel free. She discovered this feeling by chance at the age of 14 when a goldsmith invited her to her workshop to see if she wanted to try making jewellery. This experience resonated with Janni's desire to work with her hands and led to a very successful career. Now one of the most renowned contemporary Danish goldsmiths, Janni makes jewellery with a graphic, Nordic look and an emphasis on simplicity, unconventional forms and unique surfaces. She likes to combine traditional materials like solid gold and sterling silver with diamond, black onyx and other precious stones, while creating innovative, modern shapes.

Black Copenhagen ring

The Black Copenhagen ring reflects Janni’s aesthetic appreciation of sober elegance and timelessness. Created with black onyx in a gold setting, it was inspired by the stone’s natural shape, as a way of letting form and material speak for themselves.

Expo necklace

Janni was inspired to make the Expo necklace by a broken window where the cracks formed a pattern resembling a spider's web. Its distinctive design aims to symbolise new beginnings and possibilities emerging from chaos.

Grip ring

The shapes, patterns and rough surfaces of the tools Janni works with daily in the workshop were a source of inspiration for the making of this 18k ring. Finding beauty in everyday objects has been part of her creation process since the beginning.
