Yukiko Kitahara was born and raised in Japan but has been living in Andalusia half her life. Born to a family of sushi chefs, since her childhood she has been learning about the art of cooking and the importance of highlighting food against tableware. This influenced her use of the colour white in her porcelain, allowing the object's contents to play the main role, in harmony with shape. Her workshop, Taller Kúu, is where Yukiko’s vision comes to life. Her creations are inspired both by nature and the environment we live in with its contradictions and faults. Her world is a delicate one, a symbiosis between Japanese and Andalusian cultures, and it is a world that has garnered her international attention.

The handle of this porcelain olive oil flask is shaped like a leopard. The bottle, part of Yukiko’s “live with care” collection, was made by pouring porcelain into a polystyrene mould and was created for commercial use.

A dog straddles the handle of this porcelain bottle, part of Yukiko’s “live with care” collection. Made by pouring porcelain into a polystyrene mould, the bottle was created for decanting wine such as Malaga.

A small bird about to take flight is perched on the handle of this delicate porcelain tea cup and saucer. The set includes a stirrer and forms part of Yukiko’s “live with care” collection. The pieces were made by pouring porcelain into polystyrene moulds.
