This hand woven silk fabric was created for a private collection. Franz recreated the 16th century Drap d’argent moiré design, associating it with a later 17th century design of polychrome ciselé velvet on gold. Each textile Franz creates draws from the rich tradition of silk weaving to create contemporary designs tailored to the character of its future owner.

This polychrome ciselé velvet fabric, created for interior wall panels, reproduces a textile designed and created in 1865. The fabric, characteristic of Franz’s passion for silk heritage, is adorned with images of plump putti sitting alongside golden flora and floral pots set on a purple background.

This hand woven brocade satin fabric and brocade gros-de-tour fabric with polychrome silk is intended for upholstery. The fabric is a reproduction of a 1781 textile ordered for Marie Antoinette’s private apartments at Versailles.

The State bedroom is the highlight of the newly renovated Royal Apartment in Dresden, Germany. Franz worked on the restoration of this room, faithfully recreating the gold brocade as well as the other fabrics.
