Zenzo Fukushima, from The Ateliers of Wonders series
The photograph depicts a ceramic bowl from the atelier of the Japanese National Living Treasure Zenzo Fukushima. Master of Koishiwara pottery, Fukushima has created a deep celadon blue glaze achieved through reduction firing: a colour he calls "Nakano Geppaku".
