The vase is inspired by the ceramic white tile that one finds on the walls of the Parisian metro. Naoto Fukasawa, a fan of common use objects, designed this vase to highlight the stark contrast between the porcelain object of high craftsmanship (such as the ones produced by Sèvres) and the mundane tiles surfacing the walls of the underground.
