A reconstruction of the final scene from La Sposa del Sole (The Bride of the Sun), a puppet show staged in 1908 by the Compagnia Marionettistica Carlo Colla & Figli. The sets are painted on paper, using a perspective technique typical of baroque theatre. The puppets, traditional to northern Italy, are hand-carved from wood. Their costumes, made from natural fabrics, had been purchased at the Japan pavilion at the Expo Milano 1906.
