Atelier Bomba was founded in 1980 in Via dell’Oca, just a few steps from Piazza del Popolo, in the very heart of Rome. It's a company with a distinctive identity, designing and crafting tailored garments, knitwear and accessories in limited quantities, with a bespoke tailoring service. It draws from a unique archive of fabrics and materials gathered through years of research, or supplied to order from world leading mills and textile manufacturers. The raw material is handled and transformed by the expert hands of Atelier Bomba’s tailors and seamstresses. The knitwear line is manufactured using noble natural yarns by workshops of long-time collaboration in the Italian cities of Assisi and Como.
Workshop, gallery, meeting point, concept store: over the years the company has changed its skin according to the eclectic personality of its founder Cristina Bomba, but its essence has been clear since the beginning. Forty years after it was founded, Atelier Bomba is run today by Cristina’s daughter and son: Caterina Nelli, a trained sculptor and painter, is the creative director, while her brother Michele Am Russo is a bespoke tailor and coatmaker.
