Did you learn your craft from a Master?
I discovered the passion for my craft thanks to the artisans of Zagliani, an historical Milanese workshop creating exclusive crocodile accessories, man-aged by my father Mario. The secrets and the gestures of the artisans capti-vated me body and soul and the result is that I left my studies in medicine and joined the company.
How would you define yourself?
Medicine, design, marketing: all my experiences made me what I am today, but it’s my artisan soul that grew in me over time. I also work as a consult-ant and trainer and each time I still try to capture the secrets of the artisans that I meet. The trip of craftsmanship is a fantastic experience, full of grati-fication.

What's the secret to your success in leatherwork?
The distinguishing feature of my hanbags is the patented treatment of the leather, which makes them immediately recognizable. On top of that, the choice of the best raw materials and a flawless execution are the key ingre-dients to create what my clients want: a symbol of distinction, a personal accessory that makes them unique.
What does “well made” mean to you?
It’s a matter of balance between the components, the visible ones and the inner ones. A careful structure of a bag, with precious and refined finish-ings, makes it beautiful outside, even if it’s not visible. I spent many years in Japan and I learnt that studying the traditional kimonos: beauty lies in simplicity, but simplicity implies great technical mastery.
