Craft, art and design meet at Trapholt; a modern museum loved for its wide creative spectrum, as well as its intriguing architecture and picturesque landscape. Located in Kolding, a city embraced by the UNESCO Creative Cities Network, Trapholt in its current form was founded in 1988. Today it offers Denmark’s largest collection of 20th century chairs, including works by iconic Danish designers such as Nanna Ditzel, Finn Juhl and Arne Jacobsen. The latter lends his name to the museum’s Kubeflex house, an interior set entirely with designs by the modern master.

The museum’s textile and ceramic collection include artisans such as Axel Salo, Iben Høj and Bodil Manz, all spanning different generations. Each year visitors are invited to experience between six to ten new exhibitions exploring creativity, now and then, through the eyes of historic Danish artisans like Kay Boyesen, contemporary craftsmen including Claydies or themes such as “Women in Danish Furniture Design”.
