The Centre for the Study of Modern Pottery – G. Psaropoulos Foundation, is a museum, research and educational organisation, dedicated to the art of Greek ceramics from the 16th to the 20th century. Situated in the heart of Athens, it was founded by Betty Psaropoulou in 1987, and became a non-profit foundation in 1993.
Pursuing her profound interest in ceramics and extensive research on pottery, Betty Psaropoulou established the museum with the aim to preserve and study the art of Greek pottery; a deep exploration of the craftmanship.

The exhibition consists of a wide range of earthenware collected by the founder from all over Greece. The artefacts are displayed according to their type and geographical region. The great collection includes over 3,000 ceramic objects of all kinds, from each area of the country. Alongside the exhibitions the Centre for the Study of Modern Pottery offers various seminars and workshops for all ages, honouring the ancient art.
