There is no quiet in this museum as the giant chronometers tick, levers retract, a flute clock plays its songs, or a historical bell is rung by hand. The Schwäbisches Turmuhrenmuseum founded by teacher Wolfgang Vogt in 1979, is a special experience for children and young people, adults, laymen and specialists. Every visit to the museum includes a guided tour through the selection of more than 50 tower clocks from five centuries. The impressive collection is housed in the former New Year's Eve Chapel – donated and built by order of the Duchess Anna von Teck, a king's daughter from Poland.

The historic building in the centre of Mindelheim is only overlooked by the 48-metre-high chapel tower where the world's second longest clock pendulum (26m) swings every 5 seconds. During a visit, the tower will be climbed in stages to fully experience the environment of the old timepieces and their stories. For centuries, tower clocks have been unmistakable messengers of faith, proclaiming good news from above at hourly intervals.
