The Museo Casa Mollino conserves the apartment that Carlo Mollino designed for himself on the first floor of the 1888 Villa Avondo in the centre of Turin. Mollino’s interior design of the apartment dates to between 1960 and 1968; it was not intended to be his home but represents a private project imagined with a strong symbolism. After Mollino’s death in 1973, the apartment was saved by the engineer Aldo Vandoni and served as his studio until 1999, when Fulvio Ferrari and Napoleone Ferrari stepped in and established the museum.

Today, it contains almost all the original furnishings designed or chosen by Mollino and precisely arranged in the overall setting. The museum also promotes the study and awareness of Carlo Mollino’s oeuvre through the publication of books and the organisation of retrospective exhibitions. Casa Mollino has become an international reference point for museums, collectors, and auction houses, providing expertise on Mollino’s vintage furniture and photographs. Visits to the museum are by appointment only and includes a two-hour guided tour.
