Set in the prestigious Palais Granvelle, this unique museum takes visitors on a journey through time. The historical, technical and scientific aspects of time measurement are presented on the first two floors. The museum collections include 1,500 clocks and watches, over 100 grandfather clocks, Comtoise watches, pendulum clocks, 2,000 watch-related etchings from the 16th to the 19th century, tools, machines and instruments from the past and today.

It also houses gifts collected from European high-tech laboratories: quartz resonators and oscillators; micromanipulators and robots. These collections are completed by art and history collections: iconographies of time, portraits, objects of everyday life, documents on the watchmaking industry and on the history of the city. The third floor hosts temporary exhibitions and from the top of the tower, visitors enjoy a sweeping view of the town, and the chance to experience the rotation of the Earth, thanks to the Foucault pendulum.
