Founded in 1989, Johanna Gullichsen flagship shop in downtown Helsinki supplies high quality woven fabrics, linen, homeware products, bags and other fashion accessories with graphic patterns and beautiful textures. Blending traditional Nordic influences with a simple modern aesthetic results in fabrics that are both luxurious and informal, ones that fit well both in private and public interiors. As an antidote to the disposable consumer culture, the fabrics are designed to endure. The collection draws heavily from a dialogue between tradition and modernity. Working with the loom is part of Gullichsen’s creative process, through which ideas emerge. Products are then developed together with her team in the weaving mills and sewing ateliers.
