The Ilias Lalaounis Jewelry Museum ( ILJM) has been operating as a non-profit, independent cultural organisation since 1994, when it opened its doors as the first museum for jewellery and decorative arts in Greece. Focusing on traditional crafts with an emphasis on fine and studio jewellery, it showcases the life's work of world-renowned jewellery designer, academic and entrepreneur Ilias Lalaounis (1920-2013), along with temporary exhibitions and a collection of works by Greek and international artists.

The ILJM features 4,500 of Lalaounis’ original pieces created between 1940 and 2002. His signature yellow gold jewels and microsculptures defined 20th century Greek and international goldsmithery, while earning him a place as a member of the prestigious Académie des Beaux-Arts at the Institut de France in 1990. Recognising the cultural and sociological impact of jewellery on young generations, the ILJM hosts a variety of educational programmes, events and workshops for students and adults.
