Contemporary ceramics in Romania

Inaugurated in 2011, Galateea Contemporary Art is the first and only gallery dedicated to contemporary ceramics in Romania. Beyond the numerous exhibitions that the gallery regularly hosts, this artistic space is also ideal for meetings and debates on the place and future of ceramic art within the home and international context. It also presents new concepts in the relationship of ceramics with other visual arts. The exhibition program is coordinated by Galateea Group, a group of artists focused on creating a context for both established and emerging ceramicists, but also for paying homage to the masters. The gallery often collaborates with Romanian arts and design universities, in order to exhibit the students' works.
