A celebration of Danish craft

One of Denmark’s best assortments of arts and crafts lies in the Western part of the capital, where designer and craft connoisseur Karsten Lauritzen has created an oasis for handmade works in clay, glass, precious metals, paper, wood and fabric. Opened in 1999 as a combined workshop and shop, Designer Zoo still houses a goldsmith and ceramic workshop alongside Lauritsen's own production of his popular wood Bean Table, available in a rainbow of colours. With three house designers and more than 75 carefully selected artisans, the mission is to support a living culture for craftsmanship. Keep an eye out for workshops within the creative circle.
