Restored in the 1920s by architect Piero Portaluppi, who radically changed the internal layout, Atellani House (Casa degli Atellani) transports visitors into the Milanese Renaissance, with architectural elements that date to as early as the 1400s. Numerous frescoes are still visible such as those housed in the Zodiac Hall, also exquisite mosaic flooring adorned with planets and signs of the zodiac which Portaluppi redesigned to match the frescoes on the walls.

Inside the Atellani house-museum you can find trompe l’oeil frescoes, boiserie, and furniture in inlaid wood. The house hosted prominent Renaissance artists: among its visitors was Leonardo Da Vinci, who stayed in the palazzo while painting the “Last Supper”. It is also possible to visit the Vineyard of Leonardo (in 1498, Ludovico Sforza, Duke of Milan, gave Leonardo the vineyard cultivated in the garden of the Atellani House) through a tour which last 30 minutes. Guided tours are available on weekends.
