The wood in Venice, visit to the Lunardelli collection

Participants will be guided to learn the creative philosophy of Lunardelli through the pieces displayed in their showroom, objects inspired by the Venetian history, architecture and nature. Visitors will discover, among others, Sfojo (the iconic home feature, a real slice of briccola that is named after the Venetian word for “sole fish”), the stool Ca' Pesaro, the shelf Cocal (the Venetian for “seagull”), Cupole (table containers shaped like church domes) and Canneto (floor lamps evoking reeds). At the end, guests will have the chance to see artisans working on the finish of some objects.

Lunardelli Venezia

Cabinetry making

When wood mastery marries Italian design cultureThe story of Lunardelli Venezia, a Venetian company specialising in cabinetry and custom-made furnishings, began in 1967, when Angelo Lunardelli founded his cabinetry workshop. His strong work ethic, mastery of complicated techniques, attention to minute details and bold design quickly created a strong reputation and client base both in his native Venice and abroad. Over the years he passed on the knowledge that had been entrusted to him to his son and daughter, who in turn set up the company Lunardelli Venezia. This brother and sister team had a vision of producing wooden objects that would adhere to the highest standards of artisanal excellence while adapting to contemporary methods of production and an increasingly demanding market.
