Visit to Micromega Boutique and Laboratory

Micromega, the revolutionary eyewear manufacture founded by Roberto Carlon in 2000, opens its doors to visitors. The tour will start in the Boutique in Calle delle Ostreghe, where their full collection of eyeglasses and sunglasses is displayed: participants will have the opportunity to appreciate the different lines of design, from the more classic to the most original and innovative solutions, and also to try some pieces on. Visitors will then move to the laboratory, next door to the shop, to witness first hand the craftsmanship that characterises the production of these unique spectacles.

Micromega Venice

Eyewear making

Handcrafting a truly personal vision of eyewearMicromega secured an international patent in September 2000, filed by its founder and inventor, Roberto Carlon. The son of an optician, he grew up in his father's historic shop. Roberto decided to bring to life his personal idea of what eyewear should look like, and so he has created a product that is light, practical, hard wearing and above all the result of craftsmanship. The Micromega Boutique opened in 2003, between Accademia and San Marco, along one of the most prestigious shopping streets in Venice. Thanks to both Italian and international customers, the brand reputation has gradually grown, to include Elton John, Yoko Ono, Norman Foster, Emma Thompson and others celebrities among its clients. In 2015, a restyling and extension of the boutique offered the chance to expand the collections and their public display. The beating heart of production is the laboratory, where the ancient knowledge of craftsmanship merges with the use of the latest and most sophisticated technologies.
