Exhibition : Armonia della complessità

Armonia della complessità, or The Harmony of Complexity, is an harmonious composition of small glass sculptures describing the complexity of the territory – it evokes the metropolis, the city, the village, the countryside – as well as spaces dedicated to art and culture. This work was created for the Venice Architecture Biennale 2021, to interpret Emilio Casalini's Economy of Beauty that was displayed in the Venice Pavilion. It represents the flow of connections between material and immaterial resources, knowledge, individual talents and communities, post-pandemic planning and systemic changes. Beauty is a tool and an objective, managing the complexity of contemporary societies.

Marina and Susanna Sent

Glass jewellery making

Unveiling the hidden possibilities of glassMarina and Susanna Sent have taken the family tradition of glassmaking and updated into a highly original and contemporary craft, specialising in the design and production of glass jewellery and objets d’art. With different but complementary backgrounds, the two sisters – who share an appreciation of modernity and a passion for art – developed a peculiar approach to design. In their workshop, opened in 1993 and located on the Fondamenta Serenella on the island of Murano, they create original glass jewellery, the result of stylistic and technical innovations, as well as murrine and filigree glass sculptures, glass fusion plates, glass fabrics and lampshades made from interlinked pieces of glass: objects in balance between craftsmanship and design, characterised by a constant search for formal sleekness and for a modern style fluctuating between minimalism and fantasy. Their creations have been successfully exhibited at several national and international shows.
