Private one-week course of glass engraving with Matteo Seguso
Matteo Seguso, Muranese Master glass engraver, proposes a five-day workshop addressed to anyone interested in learning the fundamental of glass engraving and cold-working. Matteo, one of the youngest performers of this sophisticated traditional handcraft and a skilled teacher holding classes in the United States and Australia since 2013, will introduce participants into the ancient world of glass engraving, showing many of the methods used to decorate glass, guiding them through all the phases of the process, explaining how to choose and use the different tools and stimulating the creative potential of anyone.

Glass engravingAn ancient glass art performerAlways in search of new stimuli and challenges, Matteo Seguso is one of the youngest performers of the traditional handmade glass engraving technique and cold working. His engraved pieces sit in many private collections around the world. In his workshop, inherited from his father Bruno and partner Paolo, he creates artistic engravings on vases, glasses, mirrors or any glass object; giving rise to a wide range of drawings, sketches and embroidery. Matteo collaborates with several furnaces in Murano, as well as internationally renowned designers and artists. But his spirit remains tied to Venice and Murano where, one day, maybe his children could follow in his footsteps. "They play with the wheel, like I did as a child in the workshop."
