Weaving the island’s identity

The renowned workshop Teixits Riera, which has become an integral part of Mallorca’s identity, organises visits for groups to witness and understand the local ancestral weaving techniques in action. Visitors will first observe the Ikat, an intricate dyeing technique used to obtain the desired pattern on a textile. They will also have the chance to see the looms and craftspeople at work, weaving and drafting designs that have been repeated many times over the centuries, without ever losing their aesthetic value.
